Social status#

Social status is the position of an individual in an organized society.

It is determined by a set of distinguishing characteristics: income level, education, power, consumption, and the nature of work. The higher the status, the wider the range of available activities and the more diverse the sources of potential income. As status increases, so do the opportunities to influence social processes, as well as privileges and responsibilities.

Social statuses on the Earth of clones#

There are eight social statuses on the Land of Clones. You can determine the status, as well as the gender of the person you’re communicating with, for example, in email, by the picture next to the clone’s name. In the list of your clones, the characters’ names are highlighted in color: artisans are green, peasants are brown, and so on.

Improving social status#

Status advancement occurs in a strictly sequential manner. A vagabond cannot immediately become a bourgeois, nor a craftsman a merchant. It is necessary to go through all the stages of development and master the relevant knowledge. This reflects the logic of real life, where it is impossible to enter university straight out of kindergarten.

Upon reaching the status of artisan, a clone gains access to various actions that are retained as their status increases. Some of these abilities will develop and expand as the character advances socially.
