Population of the settlement #
The population of a settlement includes residents living directly in the settlement, as well as residents of subsidiary settlements.
For example, if you have an estate that is subordinate to a city, then the inhabitants of the estate are counted towards the city’s population. However, residents of an estate that is subordinate to a village, and that village is subordinate to a city, are not counted in the city’s population.
Real estate on the territory of the settlement #
Only those clones who live in this settlement can work at the production enterprises of settlements. Therefore, mayors are interested in providing housing for their employees. Any clone, starting with the status of “artisan” and above, has the right to build houses in any settlement. Also, owners of settlements can build housing on their territory. It is important to note that there are no restrictions on the number of residents or the construction of houses in the settlements.
The number of available living spaces in a home is determined by the amount of development that home has. The owner of the house can live in it himself and/or rent out housing to other clones. The rental price is set by the owner of the house at his discretion.
You can find out the complete list of property owners in the settlement and the total number of residents in your settlement, including subordinate settlements, on the “Residents” page (“Investor” → “Urban Planning” → “Your Settlement” → “Residents”).
Subordination of the settlement #
Estates, villages, cities and megacities are located in principalities for a reason; they follow a hierarchy of subordination. Settlements can be located on the territory of other settlements and develop together with them.
The higher the level of development of your settlement, the more management opportunities you have, such as developing production, working with large volumes of products and attracting new residents - builders, tenants and farmers. Managing your settlement can significantly increase your income.
If your settlement has reached the “Village” level, other urban planners can create their own settlements subordinate to yours. In this case, they will be considered “subordinate” or “child” settlements, and your settlement will be the “superior” or “parent” settlement.
The more settlements develop subordinate to yours, the higher your potential daily income!
