Shipyard

Work at the shipyard is available to clones of the social status of artisan or higher. In highly competitive environments, the minimum status for employment on a given day may be higher than artisan.

To work, the clone requires a working tool:

  • Tun (for a tar extractor).
  • Axe (for a carpenter).
  • Set of drawing instruments (for an engineer).
  • Abacus (for an assistant manager).
  • Scales (for the manager).

A clone can only hold one position at a company. Work at the shipyard can be combined with work at other state enterprises (except the Meat Factory).

A clone can take on the position of resin maker, carpenter, engineer, assistant, or manager, provided they meet the minimum job requirements. If a clone’s stats exceed the requirements, they can fill the position even if there are no vacancies, displacing a less experienced worker. Social status takes precedence when comparing clone stats.

The position of foreman or senior engineer is complementary to the primary position. A clone could, for example, be both a tar maker and a tar maker-foreman. This combination doesn’t require additional stamina or tools, and the salary and experience are cumulative.

While working at the shipyard, a clone consumes one unit of stamina per day. When working at multiple state enterprises, this consumption is cumulative. If the clone’s stamina is insufficient, they receive a reprimand instead of their salary. Three reprimands in a row result in dismissal. A clone can resign at any time.

Salary size#

All shipyard workers are paid daily after 00:00 GMT in two installments:

  • Permanent salary (fixed payment, amount depends on position).
  • Additional bonus.

Experience points are awarded daily, and the amount depends on the position held. Details are available by hovering over the position title.

Additional bonus#

The bonus amount depends on the shipyard’s bonus fund. If the bonus is less than the minimum payout (0.0001 gold coin), the clone does not receive it.

The state transfers 10% of the purchase price of a pleasure boat (gold coins only) daily to the shipyard’s bonus fund. The fund is distributed as follows:

  • 20% - equally divided between tar makers.
  • 10% - equally divided between the tar makers and team leaders.
  • 20% - equally divided between the carpenters.
  • 10% - equally divided between the carpenter-foremen.
  • 10% - equally divided among engineers.
  • 10% - equally divided among senior engineers.
  • 10% - equally divided between assistant managers.
  • 10% – to the manager.

Number of jobs and promotions#

The number of places at the shipyard is fixed:

Job titleNumber of workplaces
manager1
assistant manager2
senior engineer5
engineer50
carpenter-foreman40
carpenter400
tar extractor-foreman80
tar extractor800

A clone can take over a position even if there are no vacancies, displacing a less experienced worker. To move to a different type of position (for example, from resin maker to carpenter), one must first resign from the previous position.

To occupy a higher position (resin-makers-foreman, carpenter-foreman, senior engineer), a clone must:

  • Work in a relevant position (tar extractor, carpenter or engineer).
  • Have the required social status (or higher).
  • Have a charisma score higher than at least one clone in a higher position.

If the conditions are met, the clone is promoted at the end of the workday, and the previous employee is demoted one step lower. If several equal candidates apply for a position, the clone with the longest continuous service at the shipyard receives priority.
